Welcome. This site isn't too active, mostly for the very local CNY folks, but most of the GP chatting winds up happening on the UNYCGP site. There's alot of my good friends still actively participating in the 3800 fun there, from Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica-Rome, through Albany and down to Binghamton.
I'm now down in Texas with the Air Force, and soon to be stationed in Florida for a few years, so my personal help will only be advice and computer related at this point. Many of the guys on the UNYCGP forums are ones I helped get started, and have a decent head on their shoulders to make some fun streetable 3800 toys.
Just wanted to say hello, I have had my redfire GTP coupe for four years now. I'm usually on ClubGP checking things out. I had originally used it as my winter car when I had my 2000 Z28 but since that left in 2008 I've slowly modded the GTP for the past two summers. This is my only my second winter driving the car so its in pretty good shape. Haven't had alot of luck at ESTA with it, traction and poor sixty foots have been a major problem. Even with mickey's I wasn't able to hook up. Would be cool to meet up and talk about parts and ideas. thanks. Mike. listed what little mods I have done.
My plans this spring are rims, Saleen 18s, and then some paint. I want to get a dyno tune at New Era Performance and then evalute where to go from there.
as usual im sure only me and you dave will be attending this year
The rest of UNYCGP is planning to attend in decent numbers, all the way from Rochester and Buffalo. No reason for the CNY people to miss out on an event we arranged to be in our own backyard.
For people who like to claim they're "into" cars & the car modding community, it'd reflect poorly on their level of involvement, skipping out on the rare chance to personally interact with others in the car community. It takes less time to make good friends in-person at a local meet, than it does to bounce around the internet trying to chat or argue with people of that same kind of group... plus the atmosphere is alot more civil and mature (not to mention it's more fun to hear 100 jokes/conversations in an hour or so, than to read just a handful of things online in that time).
